中国是世界上栽培水稻历史最悠久的国家。
联合国粮农组织将杂交水稻作为解决粮食短缺问题的首选战略。
中国科学家从1964年开始杂交水稻研究,中国首创的杂交水稻技术向世界展示了其巨大的优越性——高产和广泛的应用前景。
为了促进杂交水稻国际化,加速杂交水稻产业化进程,共同促进水稻这一重要粮食作物的可持续生产,有关单位于2005年10月17日至20日在江西南昌联合举办”杂交水稻产业化国际学术研讨会”。
与会国内外专家学者围绕杂交水稻产业化这一主题,就发展动态,繁殖制种,选育选配,水稻病害,栽培与耕作技术,遗传与育种等内容开展学术交流和研讨,提出建设性的意见和建议。
