This book is one of series books of Crops and Their Wild Relatives in China. It was divided into introduction and contents. The introduction described the plant species, botany, cytology, agronomic classification, origin and evolution. The content was subdivided into 35 chapters including 99 cultivated species which involves 45 families, 95 genus and 426 species of wild relatives. The use values, geographical distribution, general production, morphological characteristics, biological characteristics, cultivation history, genetic variation and germplasm resources of each species, and origin, evolution, classification of related genus plants are described. It also introduced characteristics, distribution, special characters of wild relatives of cultivated trees.
